The Company:

A small Civil Engineering company based in The Netherlands.

Goal Setting:

Following the completion of the Client questionnaire – Step One of the PEP Talk Program –

a series of business goals and objectives were agreed…

The Business Goals included:
  1. Getting more Civil Engineering projects to do at his own office
  2. Extend the company with a team of contractors
  3. Offering Recruitment services for Civil Engineers to Companies
  4. Double the income within 12 months

The Challenge:

The CEO was working full time (8 hours a day) as Project Manager at a Commune, he was spending too much time working IN the business and not nearly enough time working ON the business, which resulted in low growth.

The Approach:

After setting the new goals AliaVita started with analysing the existing processes in order to see how they were working now and what improvements could be made.

Based on the detailed analysis AliaVita created a clear plan specifying where and how improvements could be made in order to reach to Business Goals.

The Improvement:

With the agreement of the CEO we have since embarked on a Program of Business Improvement - changing the systems, processes and procedures with a clear and consistent focus on Productivity, Efficiency & Profitability.

So far the following changes and improvements have been achieved:
  1. Developing of a Recruitment Business Application where job seekers can register, upload and edit their CV.
    The upload is in the Cloud and therefore visible for the CEO at all locations with an internet connection.
  2. Setting up a team of contractors (Civil Engineers) for the civil engineering projects.
  3. Refresh the website including the setup of Social Media accounts for marketing purposes.
  4. The CEO has reduced the time he works IN the business by 20% and reallocated his time to business growth and development - doubling the business in the next 12 months.
  5. Automation of time sheets, business application for recruitment and project registration.

The Results:

The improvements implemented in January 2016 will be monitored during the following 12 months.
During the monitoring AliaVita is continuing to analyse Key Performance Indicators to make sure that the changes made manifest themselves as tangible improvements in the business.

AND - The CEO has already placed two job seekers using the Business Recruitment Application of his company.

So a great start.

A midsized Engineering company in The Netherlands

The Challenge:

The challenge was to decrease the design time by at least 25% and get the employees to work more as a team.

The Approach:

After setting the new goals AliaVita started with analysing the existing processes in order to see how they were working now and what improvements could be made.

Based on the detailed analysis AliaVita created a clear plan specifying where and how improvements could be made in order to reach the Business Goals.

The Improvement:

  1. The creation of a standard symbol library of all symbols used in the digital designing.
  2. The creation of a standard detail library with the most used details needed for a design.
  3. The development of an extra menu option in the CAD software where you are able to choose all symbols and details as mentioned above to implement in your design. All symbols and details are categorized on design subject.
  4. Setting up a clear Cloud Environment for the storage of all project data as well the accessibility to it.

 

The Results:

The improvements were implemented in April 2016 the employees have already been very positive about the new menu. First project designed with the new menu options has already saved them over 25% of the original time taken to complete designs.

The project data stored in the Cloud has already increased efficiency because the team can access them from every device with an internet connection.

During the coming 6 months AliaVita will monitor the improvements to see the results and adjust if necessary.

And, as you all know business improvement is a continue process, already analysing some other designing processes.
